Connect your assistant to Dravit to ask about a saved project's objects, geometry and settings. You choose one project during sign-in. The assistant can read that project; it cannot change it.
You need a current Dravit Pro or Team plan and access to the project. Save the project before asking about recent changes. The assistant reads the saved model, including its object names and settings, rather than unsaved edits in your browser.
Install on macOS
Use the external Dravit package with a current ChatGPT desktop app or Codex that supports plugins. The package identifies its developer as Dravit and uses the Dravit icon. It does not require publication in the public plugin directory or developer identity verification.
- Open your account menu in Dravit and choose AI connections.
- Select Download Dravit plugin. Extract the whole ZIP, then open Install Dravit.command inside the Dravit folder.
- The installer registers Dravit in your existing desktop app and opens your browser for sign-in. Sign in to Dravit if needed, select your project and choose Allow read access.
- Return to your assistant and start a new chat with Dravit enabled. If the new plugin is missing, restart the desktop app once, then open Plugins → Dravit. If automatic sign-in did not open, connect your Dravit account from that plugin page.
No API key, client ID or client secret needs to be entered. The installer uses the Codex component already installed with the desktop app, or a Codex CLI available on your computer. If it reports that plugins are unsupported, update your app or use manual setup.
The installed copy stays in ~/.local/share/dravit/ai-plugin. You can delete the downloaded ZIP and its extracted folder after installation. The installer opens a Terminal window; Your connection is saved confirms successful sign-in or reuse of an existing connection. Running the installer again keeps saved authorization instead of asking you to sign in again.
Check the connection
Ask your assistant to use Dravit to read the connected project and describe its saved objects. Open the project in Dravit, make and save a change, then ask it to read the latest saved model again. The returned snapshot version should advance after a successful save.
Dravit supplies the selected project's identifier to your assistant automatically. You do not need to find or copy a project code. For example, ask: “Use Dravit to describe the objects in my connected project.”
Connect once: authorization stays active until you revoke it. Your assistant stores the connection and renews its session automatically. There is no scheduled sign-in or periodic reconnect step. Requests still require a current eligible plan and project access.
Manual setup
You can connect directly without installing the desktop package. The connection uses MCP, the protocol that lets your assistant call Dravit tools, and OAuth, the sign-in flow that lets you choose a project without sharing your Dravit password with the assistant.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Dravit |
| Server URL | https://dravit.pro/mcp |
| Transport, when requested | Streamable HTTP |
| Authentication | OAuth |
| OAuth client registration, when requested | Dynamic client registration (DCR) |
| Scope, when requested | mcp:use |
Leave client ID and client secret empty. OAuth discovery fills the authorization and token addresses automatically.
ChatGPT
- Open Plugins in ChatGPT.
- Choose Add (+) → Add custom MCP server. Your ChatGPT account or workspace must allow custom MCP connections. If this action is unavailable, check with your workspace administrator.
- Enter Dravit as the name and
https://dravit.pro/mcpas the server URL. Choose OAuth. - Review ChatGPT's custom-server notice, then choose Create as a plugin. Connect your Dravit account when prompted.
- On the Dravit page, choose your project and Allow read access. Return to ChatGPT and use your connection in a new chat.
This creates a personal custom connection. The external desktop package and this custom connection are separate installation methods; completing one is sufficient.
Codex CLI
With a current Codex CLI, run:
codex mcp add dravit --url https://dravit.pro/mcp --oauth-client-registration dcr --oauth-resource https://dravit.pro/mcp
Follow the browser sign-in, select your project and choose Allow read access. If the command adds the server without starting sign-in, run:
codex mcp login dravit --scopes mcp:use --oauth-client-registration dcr
Start a new session after setup. Use this direct MCP method when you want the server without the plugin's desktop card.
Install the package manually
The ZIP also contains a local plugin source. With a current Codex CLI on a supported desktop system, extract it into a permanent folder, open a terminal inside its Dravit folder, then run:
codex plugin marketplace add .
codex plugin add dravit@dravit-desktop
Keep that folder in place. Start a new app or CLI session and connect Dravit from Plugins. These commands register a local package source; they do not publish it to the public directory. The macOS installer automates these steps and keeps its own permanent copy.
Manage or end access
Open AI connections from your Dravit account menu. Connected apps shows the app name and selected project. Revoke access immediately ends that connection, including its automatic renewal. Other connections stay active. Expand Revoked connections to see past connections on the current page.
Project unavailable means the project is no longer active or your access was removed. Reconnecting does not restore project membership or a subscription. Restore the required access first.
To remove the external package as well, use your assistant's plugin management or run:
codex plugin remove dravit@dravit-desktop
codex plugin marketplace remove dravit-desktop
If you used direct MCP setup, remove that server with codex mcp remove dravit. Revoking access in Dravit remains the way to end its authorization immediately.
